Peer Wellness Coach

Under the supervision of the Director of Peer Services, and PI of a NIMHD grant, the person(s) will be responsible to work with participants of a research grant, based at PRCH (319 Peck st, New Haven) providing individual peer support, with a focus on financial health, and assisting with the recruitment and engagement of research participants. The person(s) may also provide occasional support to the director of the twice-weekly Citizen’s project, located in the community, which works with people with histories of psychiatric illness and incarceration to navigate the community. The Research Aide will engage persons who have a history of incarceration or criminal justice involvement in the last year and Mental health and substance challenges on peer support. They will assist in the development and implementation of plans to conduct peer support aspects of the intervention, and assist participants in securing information about resources and assist participants enrolled in understanding the materials by sharing lived experience testimonies. This role may also support and provide participants with educational needs and assistance throughout the program.
