Our Programs

As a peer-run organization, we use our direct lived experience as recipients of mental health and addiction services to approach our work. Coupled with our education and training, AU informs policy and practice to ensure that all people achieve a self-defined purpose.

Join Rise Be

Join Rise Be is a peer-run emerging adult initiative dedicated to making the opportunity of recovery available to all young people across the state of Connecticut. Learn More

Bridger Program

The Bridger program provides non-clinical mutual support to people whose lives have been affected by psychiatry, trauma and/or addiction. Our team is made up of individuals who draw from their own diverse experiences and backgrounds to build meaningful relationships based on trust, mutual benefit and compassion. Learn More

Toivo

Toivo is a holistic healing and stress management center located in Hartford, Connecticut. It is a place where people heal, relax, and find community. We offer support groups, transformational workshops, and mind-body wellness classes, including yoga, meditation, tai chi, dance, and drumming. Our offerings are free of charge with a suggested donation of $5 – $15. Toivo also offers stress management programs.at psychiatric hospitals, addiction rehabilitation centers, prisons, and workplaces. Learn More

Hearing Voices Network

CT Hearing Voices Network Groups are based firmly on a belief in self-help, mutual respect and understanding. They provide a safe space for people to share their experiences of voices, visions, unusual sensory perceptions, and to support one another. Learn More
