Recovery Support Specialists are responsible for assisting individuals with severe and prolonged mental illness to become competitively employed in the community and to reach their maximum vocational potential. This involves, but is not limited to, vocational assessments, job seeking skills training, issues related to personal appearance/presentation, entitlements training, time-limited job coaching, interview support and job development with the business community. Must be able to provide employment related support to individuals with a wide range of skills/abilities. Must be able to be flexible with work schedule to meet the needs of program participants and their employers. Must be able to communicate effectively with other service providers to coordinate service delivery for program participants. Must be willing to utilize lived experience as a recipient of mental health and/or addiction services to benefit participants in meeting their employment goals.

This position will provide community support and case management services. Responsibilities will primarily consist of the provision of direct care, and will be community based; guiding, assisting, and supporting individuals who have complex psychiatric, substance abuse, medical,social, and legal issues. This position will be focused on improving their daily living skills, and assist them in their recovery process. We will consider a mix of personal and professional experience. PEER certification required.

Core to the mission of Toivo is Healing From Within (HFW), which brings holistic, mind body wellness classes to people who are psychiatrically detained at Connecticut Valley Hospital (CVH) and other state operated institutions. The position of HFW Program Coordinator provides holistic, mind-body wellness as a pathway to mental health, addiction, and trauma recovery. The Program Coordinator will manage day-to-day HFW operations and ensure program goals align with Toivo’s mission.

Youth Peer Bridgers provide brief, transitional peer support to young people aged 14-17. Youth Peer Bridgers are mobile and work with youth participants across CT.

The Women’s Recovery Navigator, will be a self-identified woman in recovery who has maintained a minimum of 2 years sobriety, will deliver comprehensive outreach and engagement services including education, advocacy, coaching and mentorship to pregnant and parenting women choosing to work with a navigator, will have the willingness to share lived experience to help other women in their recovery journey, to act as a “boundary spanner” to link clients to essential community services and to demonstrates “cultural curiosity” and willingness to deliver services in a culturally responsive manner.

We are seeking a Latino Outreach Worker to join our dynamic team at United Services, Inc. This role is pivotal in enhancing our community engagement efforts with individuals who are Spanish-speaking and in need of substance use or mental health treatment. As a part of the Clinical Division, the Latino Outreach Worker will play a key role in promoting our services and fostering relationships with community partners.
