About the facilitators:
Stephen Matos has worked to support those struggling with gambling disorders since 2012. Stephen himself has been in recovery from gambling and alcohol issues for over thirty-four years. Currently, he is a Peer Counselor and Recovery Support Specialist with the MCCA’s Better Choice Program. He also facilitates recovery groups, facilitates family support groups, and supports clients on an individual basis.
Valerie Tebbetts is an internationally certified gambling counselor with certifications as a CCAR Recovery Coach and DMHAS Recovery Support Specialist. She has been in recovery from her gambling disorder for over ten years. Valerie presented at the convention for the National Council on Problem Gambling. She gave excellent talks about “Mindfulness-Based Recovery” and “Financial Issues and Problem Gambling.”
