The Alternatives to Suicide approach was developed by the Wildflower Alliance in 2009 as one of the only peer-to-peer groups that truly focuses on the topic of suicide. Rather than assessment and risk, these groups are based in creating a non-judgmental space in which to discuss suicide and other taboo topics.

There are a growing number of Alternatives to Suicide groups in the US and beyond.. Join us and be a part of the movement.

TRAINING PREREQUISITES: This training is primarily intended for people who have some basic facilitation skills and/or training experience, though not absolutely required so long as it is understood that the training is not designed to provide these basic skills. You should be already facilitating or have an active interest in starting an Alternatives to Suicide group or supporting an existing one.

PLEASE NOTE: This training is being held ON-LINE via Zoom. This is not something we intend to do often, and is strictly to bridge the gap while the COVID-19 pandemic is happening. In general, we recommend in person trainings wherever possible. This training is open to people who have struggled with suicidal thoughts or attempts themselves. Others who are interested in the Alternatives to Suicide approach, but who do not have personal experience should look for a When Conversations Turn to Suicide training instead.

Apply to this training HERE by February 26, 2021.
