THE ROLE
This role offers a meaningful opportunity to empower clients through shared experiences and recovery coaching, fostering personal growth and successful community living. Recovery Support Specialists work in diverse settings, including inpatient hospital units and community outpatient programs, allowing for a varied and dynamic work environment. The position provides valuable skill development through training in recovery management techniques, person-centered planning, and psychiatric rehabilitation. Working alongside behavioral health professionals in a supportive, interdisciplinary team, specialists play a vital role in client advocacy, promoting autonomy, diversity, and empowerment. They also engage with the community to connect clients to local resources and encourage participation in community activities. The role supports professional growth with opportunities to conduct workshops, enhance client wellness, and deepen knowledge in mental health recovery. Flexibility is a key benefit, as duties may involve travel, outreach, and supporting clients across multiple settings. Additionally, maintaining a recovery support certification not only fulfills job requirements but also strengthens professional credentials. Importantly, the position focuses on a supportive, non-clinical approach centered on coaching, peer mentoring, and wellness navigation.
